OG 2 Moves Beyond Speculation
Talk of an OG sequel had circulated for months following the release of They Call Him OG, but the production banner gradually moved the project from speculation to official development.
On June 11, Pawan Kalyan Creative Works said discussions with Sujeeth would take place following the director’s return from abroad.
By June 21, the banner confirmed that discussions about expanding the OG Universe had begun.
The June 25 video then provided the clearest official confirmation that Pawan Kalyan and Sujeeth were working together on the franchise’s next phase.
Pawan Kalyan himself subsequently shared the announcement, welcoming audiences to the OG Universe and using the hashtag #OG2.
Sujeeth Explains His Larger Vision
The announcement video is not a conventional film teaser.
Instead, it offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Pawan Kalyan and Sujeeth discussing how the world introduced in They Call Him OG could develop further.
Sujeeth is seen presenting artwork and explaining visual and narrative ideas connected with the franchise.
Reports on the video say the discussion touches on interconnected stories, character development, symbolic imagery and potential future directions for the OG Universe.
Concept-art pages are also visible during the conversation, reinforcing the impression that the team is attempting to build a broader mythology around Gambheera rather than treating OG 2 simply as an isolated sequel.
However, detailed plot information has not yet been officially revealed.
Pawan Kalyan Backs Sujeeth’s Plans
One of the significant moments in the announcement video comes as Pawan Kalyan listens to Sujeeth’s presentation and expresses his support for the director’s vision.
According to reports covering the official video, Pawan Kalyan tells Sujeeth that whatever support he requires from his side will be made available.
The exchange signals that the actor is closely involved in plans to expand the franchise through Pawan Kalyan Creative Works.
The official announcement specifically states that Sujeeth and Pawan Kalyan are reuniting under the banner to expand the OG Universe saga.
Ojas Gambheera Remains at the Centre
They Call Him OG introduced Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera, a feared gangster who returns to Bombay after years away and becomes involved in a confrontation with crime lord Omi Bhau, played by Emraan Hashmi.
The film was written and directed by Sujeeth and released theatrically in September 2025.
The announcement for the next phase repeatedly references Gambheera and his untold story, indicating that the character will remain central to the franchise.
The precise structure of OG 2, including how much of the story will explore Gambheera’s past and how much will continue events from the first film, has not yet been officially detailed.
For that reason, claims about specific storylines, crossovers or character appearances should remain treated as speculation until confirmed by the filmmakers.
Thaman Returns to the OG Universe
Composer Thaman S is also associated with the new phase of the franchise.
Thaman composed the music and background score for They Call Him OG, and reports surrounding the sequel-development announcement confirm his return for the expanding OG Universe.
Music played a prominent role in the identity and promotional campaign of the first film, making Thaman’s return a significant piece of continuity between the original movie and the franchise’s future chapters.
September Update Keeps OG Universe Active
The franchise has continued to receive official promotional material following the June announcement.
On September 2, 2026, Pawan Kalyan Creative Works released “OG Universe: To Orochi, With Love,” describing the OG Universe as an upcoming cinematic-franchise expansion centred around They Call Him OG and directed by Sujeeth.
The release offered another indication that development and world-building around the franchise remain active following the OG 2 announcement.
Is OG 2 the Final Title?
The sequel is currently being widely referred to as OG 2, and the makers themselves have used the #OG2 hashtag in official communications.
However, the team has not yet unveiled a separate full title treatment comparable to a traditional movie-title announcement.
It is therefore safest at this stage to describe the project as OG 2 or the next chapter of the OG Universe rather than assume that every detail of its eventual theatrical title has been finalized.
No Official Release Date Announced Yet
Despite the confirmation of the project, the makers have not announced an official theatrical release date for OG 2.
A complete cast list, shooting schedule and detailed production timeline have also not been formally unveiled.
Fans should therefore be cautious about unofficial release dates or casting reports circulating online unless they are confirmed by Pawan Kalyan Creative Works, Sujeeth or another official production source.
OG Universe Signals a Bigger Franchise Plan
The most important aspect of the announcement is that the makers are no longer speaking only about an individual sequel.
Their messaging repeatedly uses the term “OG Universe,” suggesting plans for a wider franchise built around the characters, history and mythology introduced in They Call Him OG.
The discussion video shows Sujeeth presenting Pawan Kalyan with a broader creative framework, while concept art hints at stories extending beyond what audiences saw in the first film.
What form that expansion ultimately takes remains to be officially revealed.
For now, the confirmed development is clear: Pawan Kalyan is returning to the world of Ojas Gambheera, Sujeeth is leading the creative expansion, and OG 2 is officially in development as part of the larger OG Universe.
Further details about filming, supporting cast, story and release plans are expected to be announced by the makers as development progresses.
Bottom Line

A special discussion video released in June 2026 offered an early look at creative plans and concept art surrounding Ojas Gambheera’s untold story. Composer Thaman S is associated with the new phase.
